All Media Downloader — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the All Media Downloader Chrome extension ("Extension") handles your data. The Extension helps you detect and download publicly available media (images, videos, GIFs) from supported websites.

Overview

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All processing — including media detection, downloading, file renaming, ZIP packaging, and deduplication — happens entirely on your local device within your browser.

Local Storage

The Extension uses chrome.storage.local to store the following data locally on your device:

  • Your preferences (filename template, download path, concurrent download limit)
  • Download history (file paths and timestamps)
  • URL hashes for deduplication (to avoid downloading the same file twice)

This data never leaves your device and can be cleared at any time from the Extension's settings page.

Permissions

The Extension requests only the minimum permissions required for its functionality:

  • Host permissions for specific supported sites only (Twitter/X, Pixiv, Instagram, Xiaohongshu, Pinterest) — to detect media on those pages
  • sidePanel — to display the media preview and download interface
  • storage — to save your settings and download history locally
  • downloads — to save files to your computer
  • activeTab / scripting — to scan the current page for media content
  • tabs — to identify which tab is active for media detection

Third-Party Services

This Extension does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services. No data is sent to any external server.

Content Handling

The Extension only processes publicly available content that is already visible in your browser. It does not bypass any login walls, paywalls, or DRM protections.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
